Game: 3D Print Your Life
These are the final pictures of the level. It was redone from scratch due to a bugged asset and a change in plans, in about 3 weeks.
There are 9 playable areas, divided into 3 zones. One zone is above ground with 4 areas, another zone is underground, and the last zone is the furthest underground split into areas.
There are 7 shops throughout the world, vacant buildings, houses, parks, and two underground areas (they will be revealed after launch).
I did decorate this version of the world more, compared to the 2021 and 2020 versions. However, I was told by the company I was working with, to be mindful of how many assets I placed as to not make the game run slowly on older computers, laptops, and other devices. There wasn’t a set number of assets they could give me, and I had a gaming PC that was about 5 years old. I tried to strike a balance of making the world look like the NPCs actually lived there, keeping low-spec and old devices in mind, and giving myself extra “asset room” in case other changes had to be made.

It was time to update the game for the newest software version. While fixing some parts of the level I rediscovered a bugged asset. The company I was working with advised me it would be best to make a new world so the bugged asset wouldn’t cause potential errors, and I agreed with that sentiment.
This, in combination with coming to terms that the features I wanted for gameplay were not going to come anytime soon, nor the ability to make it myself, made me decide to redo the whole world from scratch and put more effort into it’s design.
I wanted to make more use of the world’s verticality, so these are my WIP shots of testing the layout of the zones, building space for walking, shop layouts, asset decoration options, and zone themes.

There was a possibility of my game being chosen to be released, but the features I was waiting on hadn’t been implemented yet. Realizing it might not happen, I decided to polish the previous level design and make it look like a functioning city.
I did not create new decoration assets for the building or use a lot of the available assets to make the city look full of life. My fear was it would come off as making a very pretty level to cover up the lack of gameplay.
I did however, build shops, houses, crosswalks, roads, parks, and a secret underground area (will be revealed after release).

These were the first versions of the shop and world layout back in 2020. At this time, I was waiting on a few features for certain game mechanics. The goal was to have most of the gameplay inside the shop. Therefore, anything outside the shop was just temporary set dressing.
I had stations for 3D printing the orders, a place to grab filament to print in different colors or restock, and a clean-up station. There was also a storage room for extra supplies the players would have to order and restock. This was the original goal.

I was an admin of a Minecraft Server and decided to make a dance club for the players.
I made a big dance floor in the center with smaller themed dance floors & restaurants in the corners.
Outside all dance floors, there were places to put your armor and items that was two stories, and check-in booths on near the center of the building.
The themed dance floors had seating by the wall for food, and large seating by the main dance floor for resting and chatting.
I wanted to give players a chance to roleplay, so the restaurants were available to go inside and prepare food, and the check-in was available to go inside as well.
This is a game’s starting area for a subscriber PvP event. Made for the live streamer, Wyntr.

I wanted to make a round arena to hold everyone and have a designated spot for the streamer in the middle. I went with a space invaders inspired design. The whole thing is hovering in the air to add a sense of grandness and possible gameplay fun when battling.
The places where the players stand are little ships, with their shots visible in the ground. On each center four corners of the circle are hearts, something the Streamer uses in their branding. The ships being rainbow colored is also a part of the Streamer’s branding.
